Sunnylands Summit Foreign Reporting Tour

From February 9-19, 2016, FPC conducted a foreign reporting tour centered around the February 15-16 Sunnylands Summit, to which President Obama invited the heads of state from each of the ten ASEAN member countries. Tour participants from each of the ASEAN member countries ensured that this important event in the U.S. received proper coverage in the region. The tour began in Hawaii with visits to Pacific Command (PACOM), think tanks, and other entities related to U.S.-ASEAN relations. The tour continued to the Sunnylands Summit and concluded with follow-on events in San Francisco. Tour participants produced nearly 90 news items reflecting on the importance of U.S. engagement with ASEAN nations.
