Six journalists from France TV 2 and Radio France Internationale, Handelsblatt (Germany) and Xinhua News Agency (China) participated in an October 30 NYFPC-exclusive press preview of an exhibit on African art and curatorial ingenuity at the Brooklyn Museum. The museum’s collection of sub-Saharan art, with over 6000 pieces and over a hundred different cultures represented, is the largest collection of African art in an American art museum. Journalists were also given a behind the scenes tour of the Conservation Lab where specialists work to preserve and protect pieces in the collection.
