Foreign media on the New York Foreign Press Center’s reporting tour to Silicon Valley and San Francisco had rare access to entrepreneurs, investors and engineers who provided insight and context on the “ecosystem” that supports America’s famed west coast high-tech corridor. Through briefings and site visits at Stanford University, Cisco, Google, OpenTable, Indiegogo, Leap Motion, Yelp, and Disqus, as well as the venture capital firm Draper Fisher Jurvetson, journalists were exposed to the business and R&D collaboration and the diversity of talent and labor that epitomize Silicon Valley innovation and job creation.
