Twenty-six journalists toured recently-reopened Ellis Island National Monument on November 21 and received a briefing on the facility's rich history as well as the extensive repairs undertaken since Hurricane Sandy damages forced a year-long closure. More than 100 million Americans can trace their ancestry to Ellis Island.
