Journalists from BBC Persia TV and Pan-Arab newspaper Al Hayat visited a U.S. aircraft carrier, the U.S.S. George H. W. Bush, off the coast of Virginia. Invited by the U.S. Navy, the journalists were flown out and back on a U.S. Navy C-2 aircraft and given an in-depth look at life on a carrier. They had the opportunity to interview Captain Andrew Loiselle and Strike Group Commander Rear Admiral John Aquilino, and had a tour of the flight and hangar decks while flight operations were underway. The group got a first-hand look at how constant training, careful planning, and close coordination are required to safely conduct flight operations while at sea.
