Seventeen foreign correspondents visited P-Tech High School in Brooklyn, a public private partnership between the NYC Department of Education, City University of New York and IBM. President Obama commended the school in his State of the Union Address for its focus on readying the next generation of workers for jobs in high tech fields and for its innovative approach to STEM education. The NYFPC tour gave journalists from China, Japan, Korea, Hong Kong, Belgium, Denmark, France, Spain, Russia, and Canada an opportunity to interview partnership representatives, faculty and students, and to view some of the projects on which the students are working.
